Grand Rapids is gearing up to welcome back the Brickworld LEGO Exposition for its second year, set to transform the DeVos Place Convention Center into a vibrant playground of imagination from September 13–15, 2024. This three-day event promises a weekend full of creativity, engineering marvels, and endless opportunities to build and explore the world of LEGO, a beloved toy that has inspired generations.

LEGO enthusiasts of all ages can look forward to an impressive array of original LEGO creations, from massive spaceships and intricate castles to bustling train cities and pop culture-inspired designs. The Expo will cover 50,000 square feet, offering a visual feast of more than just colorful bricks; it’s a celebration of creativity, innovation, and community.

Kicking off the weekend, Friday night’s VIP preview features the dazzling World of Lights. As the exhibit hall dims, the creations come alive with mesmerizing lighting displays, offering a unique perspective on the artistry behind these builds. VIP guests can also get hands-on by constructing their own illuminated masterpieces.

Saturday and Sunday will be packed with interactive experiences. Guests can express their creativity by adding to the Interactive City display, crafting mosaic-style images on the Graffiti Wall, or diving into the Play Brick area, where tens of thousands of loose LEGO bricks await their creative touch.

One of the highlights is the Great Ball Contraption (GBC), a mind-bending collection of LEGO machines that pass thousands of LEGO soccer balls around a continuous loop. The GBC, which first debuted at Brickworld, has since become a social media sensation and a must-see at the Expo.

“Brickworld encourages families and friends to come be inspired by all the engineering and creativity our LEGO artists have to offer. Take your eyes off of your screens for a day and enjoy building together at our interactive displays, increasing your LEGO collection by visiting our vendors and, of course, seeing massive LEGO cities, castles, spaceships, and so much more,” said Chief Brick Officer and Master Model Builder Mark Larson.”You may even learn something new about the LEGO community or be inspired to start your own displays!”

In addition to Brickworld, visitors can also enjoy a portion of the ArtPrize gallery, which runs through the DeVos Place Convention Center, making this weekend a perfect opportunity to experience two incredible events in one location.

Whether you’re a seasoned builder or new to the world of LEGO, Brickworld Grand Rapids is an event that promises to inspire, entertain, and engage. Join the fun and discover the endless possibilities that await within the world of LEGO.
