The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is celebrating winter this weekend with an outdoor ice bar and winter-themed games.

The Downtown Market is hosting an ice bar lounge and custom ice-carved Drinko game, a boozy spin on Plinko, this weekend under the market shed, at 435 Ionia Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids.

Fun and games will take place from 4-9 p.m. Friday, noon-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

The event will feature a custom 18-foot bar carved out of ice and a drink luge. The ice bar will feature hot and cold cocktails, “daring” shots and winter ales.

Attendees can cut loose with a fire and ice shot from the ice luge or settle in with a specialty cocktail from the ice bar, which will feature hot cider and apple whiskey, white Russians and arctic lemonade.

A variety of outdoor games will be set up under the market shed, including giant Jenga, Connect Four, and Drinko, where guests can pick up a special ice koozie and let a chip falling through an ice sculpture decide their drink fate.
