Replicas of animals across the world will be featured at the zoo.
John Ball Zoo will host BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise, an international traveling exhibition, from May 1-Sept. 7.
The exhibition will feature 40 life-size animal sculptures created with over 1.8 million individually colored building bricks.
The sculptures also will feature facts, such as the size of each sculpture, the number of bricks used to build each sculpture and the amount of time that it took to create the sculpture.
“The world’s wildlife has sadly declined in the last generation,” said Peter D’Arienzo, CEO of John Ball Zoo. “Oceans, ice caps, jungles, rivers and forests are struggling to cope with the growing pressure upon them. With the ongoing environmental threats in the world we live in, it is exciting to host BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise and bring important animal, habitat facts and statistics to life in a fun brick-built environment.”
John Zoo will open for the 2020 season on April 3.
