An area manufacturer is marketing its “low-touch,” food-warming products as a sanitary alternative to the break room microwave for after employees start returning to work.
Grand Haven-based HotLogic said its food-warming totes and appliances could be “a healthier alternative to takeout food, storing your food in the community refrigerator and using the break room microwave for cooking” as companies prepare to bring employees back safely to the office.
“The thought of going back to the break room environment is not only stressful; it’s no longer considered safe,” said Bill McKendry, chief marketing officer for HotLogic. “People are looking for no-touch or low- touch solutions. HotLogic is not only a good option; it’s actually a break room breakthrough.”
HotLogic food-warming totes and appliances use slow and low conduction heating through the brand’s SmartShelf Technology, which “evenly cooks or reheats fresh or frozen meals, meats and vegetables (and) leftovers to a pathogenically safe temperature and holds it there until you are ready to eat.”
The company said HotLogic has several attributes that could make it a good post-COVID-19 food-warming solution:
- No buttons to push, making it more sanitary than a microwave
- No waiting in line, for healthy social distancing
- No food splatter, which means no germs spreading
HotLogic offers two options: no-touch totes, which serve as a personal portable oven; and low-touch break room food-warming cabinets.
The latter break room appliances warm four to eight entrées in the same counter space as a microwave and also can be stacked to achieve 8:1, 16:1 and 24:1 space savings ratios.
The warming totes are available in mini and casserole sizes in an array of designs and colors with padded handles and added leather details. They are available in wall outlet and car-plug models.
HotLogic products are designed and developed in Grand Haven and assembled by Goodwill Industries of West Michigan in Muskegon and Holland.
