Local artists from 14 West Michigan counties can now submit their art for a chance to be juried into the 2021 West Michigan Area Show.

Hosted by the Kalamazoo Institute of Art, the artworks can range from paintings, prints and photos to mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and mixed-media works.

The 2021 West Michigan Area show will run from June 5-Sept. 5.

New York-based curator, Larry Ossei-Mensah will serve as the juror and will choose the artworks that will be on display in the exhibition, which will award more than $6,000 in prizes including a People’s Choice award sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.

Ossei-Mensah is the former Susanne Feld Hilberry senior curator at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and currently is serving as curator at-large at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
