A Kentucky bourbon maker is partnering with the JW Marriott Grand Rapids to host a women-focused class on whiskey and distilling.

The JW Marriott Grand Rapids said it will host Women Who Whiskey 2021 Thursday, Nov. 4, on the downtown hotel’s jdek overlooking the Grand River, at 235 Louis St. NW.

Hosted by Greta Harper, of Loretto, Kentucky-based Maker’s Mark, along with the hotel’s resident mixologists from its Margaux French bistro, the event will feature a lesson on the history of whiskey and the distilling process, plus an option to add on a four-course dinner with whiskey pairings from Maker’s Mark inside the Domes on the Dek.

“Attendees will leave with whiskey-centric recipes to impress family and friends this holiday season,” the hotel said.

Whiskey lessons begin at 5 and 6 p.m., and the private dinner in the domes starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets, $25 for the lesson only and $200 for dinner added on (minimum two people per party, maximum six), are available here.
