A restaurant company has revealed the name and some menu items it will offer at its upcoming brunch place in town.

Grand Rapids-based Meritage Hospitality Group said this month the newest restaurant in its portfolio will be called Morning Belle Brunch Bistro.

This spring, the company said it would open a new eatery inside the Twisted Rooster in Grand Rapids Township, at 1600 E. Beltline Ave. NE, the Business Journal previously reported.

Meritage closed its 9-year-old restaurant in June.

The new brunch spot should open in mid-September, according to a Facebook post by Abby Shaw, marketing coordinator, Meritage.

Menu items unveiled so far include doughnut waffles, oats with fruit and toast, a ham benedict on rosemary focaccia bread, Pacific blue crab hash, cinnamon roll French toast and a variety of cold brews, cocktails and juices.

Meritage is making progress on the restaurant’s renovations. The building was shown with the former sign taken down and the interior completely gutted, revealing large, exposed brick columns, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Meritage said earlier the new eatery will have a “light and fresh atmosphere.”
