A retail project downtown has anchored its first tenant.
Dallas-based Texas de Brazil plans to open its first West Michigan location at 111 Lyon St. NW in Grand Rapids. It also has a Michigan location in Detroit.
The location is expected to open in the spring or summer of 2021, following a $6-million project to create three to five new storefronts at 111 Lyon St. NW by Grand Rapids-based CWD Real Estate Investment.
Texas de Brazil brands itself as an authentic churrascaria or Brazilian steakhouse.
The menu features a wide selection of grilled meats, a 50-item salad area, wine list and a la carte dessert selections.
“The city’s charm and welcoming environment combine to create an ideal setting for a dining destination, and we’re excited to become a part of this rich community,” said Salim Asrawi, president and COO, Texas de Brazil.
The Brazilian steakhouse will occupy over 6,700 of the 15,000 square feet of retail space that will be available at 111 Lyon St. NW. Construction on the new storefronts will begin this month.
Founded as a family-owned business in 1998, Texas de Brazil operates restaurants in 23 states and eight countries.
