Music lovers can beat the winter blues at Kentwood’s popular Winter Concert Series, returning Thursday, Jan. 16, with free live performances by local artists and a variety of food trucks offering delicious fare. The series, held on the third Thursday of each month, will run through March at the Kent District Library’s Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch, located at 4950 Breton Ave. SE. Each concert, scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m., will also feature a food truck outside the library for guests to grab a bite while enjoying the music.

“We’re looking forward to another great concert series this winter season,” said Val Romeo, Kentwood Parks and Recreation director. “These indoor performances offer a great opportunity for community members to enjoy quality time with friends and neighbors while listening to live local music.”

The Winter Concert Series will open with a high-energy performance by Big Daddy Fox on Thursday, Jan. 16. Known for their eclectic blend of blues, soul, rock, and R&B, the group brings legendary blues guitar and lively percussion to the stage. Big Daddy Fox has earned a reputation for their dynamic sound and engaging live performances, making this a night you won’t want to miss. To accompany the music, Around Baking Company will be serving freshly baked pizzas from their food truck outside the library.
