Tulip Time Festival, Inc. has announced the 2023 grand marshals for its upcoming celebrations. Continuing with tradition, the 94th annual Tulip Time festival will feature two parades: the Kinderparade and the Volksparade. Each year, Grand Marshals are selected to lead the parade in recognition of their leadership in our community. Grand Marshals for the 2023 Kinderparade are ODC Network and Gentex. Grand Marshals for the 2023 Volksparade are Mr. Frank Kraai and The Honorable Juanita Bocanegra.

This year’s Grand Marshals carry themes of vision, education, and mentorship woven through all four stories.

It all takes place May 6-14, with nine days of flowers, Dutch dancing, carnival rides, quilts, historic walking tours, parades and other fun.

Many festival features are free. Tickets are required for some (events noted by an asterisk) — including performances by Sara Evans, Girl Named Tom, Fiddlefire and the ever-popular Elton Rohn. Some sell out before Tulip Time begins.

New events this year:
From the Netherlands, the award-winning “Bicycle Showband Crescendo”  features marching band musicians riding bicycles in traditional Dutch costumes. See them May 12–14 at the Hope College football stadium, and in the Volksparade, May 13.

Tulip City Brewstillery Guided Beverage Tastings*  May, 8–12 — a history lesson and a flight combined, sampling beers while learning the local history backstories of their names, and, at Big Lake Brewing, a small batch Tulip Time beer in collectible cans.
