Michael Jackson’s legacy takes center stage in Grand Rapids with the arrival of “MJ,” a Tony Award-winning musical chronicling the making of the 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Tickets for the Michigan and Grand Rapids premiere at DeVos Performance Hall from July 9-14 go on sale March 21 at 11 a.m.

Directed by Christopher Wheeldon and written by Lynn Nottage, “MJ” delves into Jackson’s creative genius and collaborative spirit, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the mind of the legendary entertainer. Roman Banks stars as ‘MJ’ alongside a talented cast, including Jamaal Fields-Green, Brandon Lee Harris, and Josiah Benson. The ensemble boasts a lineup of skilled performers who bring Jackson’s iconic music and electrifying performances to life on stage.

The creative team behind “MJ” is led by Derek McLane, Natasha Katz, and Paul Tazewell, promising a visually stunning production that captures the essence of Jackson’s groundbreaking artistry. With Musical Supervision by Tony Award nominee David Holcenberg and Orchestrations and Arrangements by David Holcenberg and Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb, the musical promises to deliver a memorable experience for fans of all ages.

Prices start at $52.50. Ticket buyers are advised to purchase only from official outlets, including Broadway Grand Rapids and DeVos Performance Hall, to avoid complications.  Broadway Grand Rapids and DeVos Performance Hall are the only official retail ticket outlets for all performances.
