A nationally recognized indie folk band based in Traverse City will headline Taste of Muskegon next month.
The Accidentals will return to Taste of Muskegon on Saturday, June 11, after first appearing at the festival in 2018. Taste of Muskegon went virtual in 2020 with the Taste Tour, which included a virtual benefit concert from The Accidentals.
“Taste of Muskegon has a great relationship with The Accidentals, and we are excited to see them return. Everyone had so much fun with them in 2018, (and) they will give Muskegon an excellent show,” said Ann Meisch, director of Taste of Muskegon. “We are also looking forward to bringing a variety of genres to the lineup this year. There’s a bit of something for everyone.”
Opening the festival on Friday, June 10, will be Starlight City, known for 1980s, ’90s and Top 40 pop and rock. Jazz guitarist Rick Hicks will get the festival going shortly after the gates open Friday.
U’Neek and Phil Denny will lend their sounds to the festival on Saturday.
Taste of Muskegon, produced by the Muskegon Downtown Development Authority, will take place on June 10 and 11 in Hackley Park, 350 W. Webster Ave. in Muskegon.
The festival features a competition between Muskegon’s best local restaurants and food trucks. Saturday will begin with United Way’s annual Ride United biking event. Awards for Taste of Muskegon’s best plates will take place Saturday afternoon and include judge and public votes.
