Buddy’s Pizza will sponsor the Grand Rapids Griffins during the 2021-22 season.

Farmington Hills-based Buddy’s Pizza, which has West Michigan locations, said Monday, Nov. 1, it is partnering with the Grand Rapids Griffins for the 2021-2022 season. Throughout the season, Buddy’s will sponsor a variety of the Griffins’ programs, including Hometown Heroes, an initiative that honors local veterans during home games, and Griffins Kids Club.

The partnership comes during a milestone year for Buddy’s and the Griffins. Buddy’s is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and the hockey team is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

“For each of our locations, we want to make sure we’re truly ingrained in the community,” said Wes Pikula, chief brand officer for Buddy’s Pizza. “Our partnership with this cherished team during such a monumental year for both organizations is a great way to celebrate our fans.”

Sean Wright, Grand Rapids Griffins vice president of corporate sales, said the team is honored to have Buddy’s join as a sponsor.

“It’s going to be a great year, and Buddy’s Pizza will be with us for the entire ride,” Wright said.

When Griffins fans and families purchase the family four-pack ticket package, they will receive a free four-square pizza voucher for their next dine-in or carryout order at Buddy’s Pizza.

Buddy’s opened its Kentwood location at 4061 28th St. SE in spring 2019. The restaurant was the company’s first location in West Michigan. The other is in Portage.
