Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts is hosting a new event series.

After Dark Markets will take place from 3-10 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month, May 14-Sept. 10, at 555 Monroe Ave. NW in Grand Rapids.

The event offers local makers and artists the opportunity to collaborate and expand their network and invites the public to support them through interactive art events and vendor sales. After Dark Markets will have live painting, interactive art, artist markets, food, drink and live music.

Lions & Rabbits is a nonprofit focused on supporting local artists and businesses to engage the community. Through crowdfunding, sponsorship and interactive, free street parties, Lions & Rabbits aims to raise funds for barrier-free public art and artist education.

This Saturday’s market will feature vendors such as cheesemaker The Cheese People, apparel company Justice 4 All, Bee Eclectic Studio & Emporium, jewelry maker Dreamy Hue Creative and Southern Hiss Sauce Co.

General admission to the market is free. All beverage and vendor proceeds will go toward After Dark’s public art campaign.

Lions & Rabbits is accepting vendor applications for future After Dark Markets. Artists and makers can apply here.
