Two family-friendly movies will be shown in local green spaces.
Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, Padnos, Grand Rapids Public Schools and the Grand Rapids Office of Special Events are presenting the last two films of their three-film summer event series.
Movies in the Park will show “Encanto” at 6 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Roberto Clemente Park, 546 Rumsey St. SW; and “Sing 2” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Camelot Park, 2230 Rowland Ave. SE.
Each event includes free food from Daddy Pete’s BBQ for the first 150 guests and a limited quantity of popcorn and soda from Robinson’s Popcorn.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs for outdoor seating. Alcohol is prohibited, and events will be canceled in the event of severe weather.
Friends of Grand Rapids Parks started Movies in the Park in 2019 to spark community interest and engagement in local parks. This year’s summer series began June 25 with a showing of “Space Jam 2: A New Legacy.”
