Instead of the annual Festival of Trees, the Muskegon Museum of Arts is collaborating with downtown businesses and organizations to host a new version of the holiday event called Festival of Wreaths, which will be held outside from Nov. 24 – Dec. 6.
The change to the annual event is to protect the community’s health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Downtown businesses and organizations will display designer wreaths provided by MMA in their windows facing the street or sidewalk, allowing individuals to view the wreath as they walk through the city. There also will be a small gallery that showcases the décor during the festival.
The MMA will provide a walking map with the location of all the wreaths in both printed and digital versions, accessible via a QR code. The QR code will be printed on signage and available at www.muskegonartmuseum.org. The printed maps will be available at the MMA store and at participating businesses starting Nov. 24.
Additionally, MMA will be hosting a hot cocoa hop special event on Nov. 28 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the parking lot, 296 W. Webster Ave. Hot cocoa will be free.
