‘Tis the season to be jolly at Meijer Gardens.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is exhibiting “Metro Health Christmas & Holiday Traditions” from Nov. 26 to Jan. 5.
“Guests will have the opportunity to explore the signs of the season with deeper meaning and find the commonalities shared within diverse cultures,” said Steve LaWarre, director of horticulture, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
Meijer Gardens will be decorated with 46 trees and displays that represent different countries around the world. Some of the trees include the Germany tree, adorned with handmade glass ornaments and homemade springerle cookies, the England tree, with antique Christmas cards and mistletoe, and the Eid ul-Fitr display, which celebrates the end of Ramadan.
There will be 300,000 lights shining inside, as well as poinsettias, orchids and amaryllis.
The exhibition also features the Railway Garden and the film “Joy,” which explores the “diverse festive fabric that is holiday life across local communities.”
More information on the exhibition, including events, is online.
