Holland Civic Center offers virtual Christmas concert

“A Virtually Celtic Christmas” concert will be streamed at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 thanks to the Holland Civic Center Place.

The concert was filmed at the National Opera House of Ireland and was directed by Irish conductor and composer Liam Bates.

The event will feature Irish artists, including Michael Londra, backed by the Irish Concert Orchestra, the Valda Choir and the Presentation Children’s Choir and other guest singers and musicians from Ireland, including Eoin Colfer.

Bates and Colfer teamed up in 2017 to compose a holiday musical called “NOËL.”

There will be a mix of carols such as The Wexford Carol, Gaelic hymns and other holiday songs.

Proceeds benefit the Ottawa Area Schools Doing More. Together. initiative, a partnership program among schools, employers and community organizations throughout the region with a shared goal of preparing students for their future, and the Holland Civic Center Place.
