This weekend features two days filled with “some of the most delicious dishes West Michigan has to offer” — and much more.
Taste of Grand Rapids
(Friday and Saturday)
More than 23 restaurants will be on hand for a day filled with local food and live music. Friday night is “rock night,” and Saturday is “all about country music.”
This event is July 26 from 3-10 p.m. and July 27 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at John Ball Park. Photo via fb.com.
“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”
(Saturday and Sunday)
“Once you fall through the rabbit hole, nothing is as it seems!” the theater says. “Adapted from Lewis Caroll’s 1865 book of the same name, this lively play follows Alice on a confounding journey through a world of talking animals and a corrupt queen.” The play is presented by Grand Rapids Civic Theatre — through its summer repertory program for youth performers.
This weekend’s production is July 27 at 7:30 p.m. and July 28 at 2 p.m. at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.
Movies on Monroe
(Friday)
The outdoor film series will feature “Transylvania 3” (PG) in English with Spanish subtitles and “A Quiet Place” (PG-13) in English with English subtitles.
The screenings are July 26 near the Grand River at 555 Monroe Ave. NW. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Made in MI Pop-up Marketplace
(Saturday)
This pop-up event will feature “artisan gifts, local treats and Michigan-made (and grown) goodies.”
The marketplace will be July 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Downtown Market.
Not So Silent Party
(Friday)
Live DJs will be “battling for you.” Switch between all three on your headphone to “decide who’s rocking the party the best!” The battle will feature three DJs: DJ SANiTY, top 40 and EDM; DJ Zeke Ramos, ’80s, ’90s and 2K throwbacks; and DJ Your Honor, hip-hop, soca and reggae
The DJ-off is July 26 at 9:30 p.m. at 20 Monroe Live.
