Life-sized dinosaurs and dragons will make an appearance in Grand Rapids this winter.

The annual Dino & Dragon Stroll event produced by Lake Orion-based CV Events will return from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 1 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 2 at the DeltaPlex Arena, at 2500 Turner Ave. NW in Walker.

The venue will transform into the Mesozoic Era with prehistoric dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

Guests can walk alongside life-sized dinosaurs and dragons, including T-Rex, Velociraptor and Stegosaurus, which stand over 28 feet tall and are over 60 feet long.

The dinosaurs and dragons will move their heads, necks, tails and wings. Guests will see their eyes blinking and mouths opening and closing, and they will hear breathing movements and synchronized sounds and roars.

With every stop on its North American tour, including in Grand Rapids, Dino & Dragon Stroll will team up with a local food bank/food pantry as part of its “Stomp Out Hunger” initiative to help children and families who are facing food insecurity.

Guests can bring food items to donate at the event.
