One of the millennial generation’s beloved childhood movies is coming to the stage in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids Civic Theatre is presenting “Matilda the Musical” for 18 performances, Feb. 22-March 28, at its space downtown.
Based on the book by Roald Dahl, “Matilda” is the story of an extraordinary girl who uses her intellect and a touch of magic to change the course of her own destiny, GRCT said. Dealing with her neglectful family and tyrannical principal Miss Trunchbull, Matilda’s only reprieve is getting lost in the worlds found in her imagination or her books and time with her teacher, Miss Honey, who takes interest in her intellect and wit.
GRCT recommended the show for ages 8 and older.
Tickets are $22-$39 for adults and $20 for students and children.
