Grand Rapids’ 97 LAV-FM will be hosting Blues on the Grand for three Thursdays at Ah-Nab-Awen Park, 220 Front Ave. NW, Grand Rapids.

Eric Gales will headline the July 15 event, which also will feature music from a local band handpicked by LAV’s Tony Gates. The Aug. 19 headliner will be Serbian blues singer and guitarist Ana Popovic, and on Sept. 9, singer Jake Kershaw will take the stage.

The gates will open at 6 p.m., and headliners will take the stage around 8 p.m.

There will be food from Yo Chef, beer and seltzers from Miller Lite, along with the on-air crew from 97 LAV, which will be partnering with the nonprofit organization Friends of Grand Rapids Park.

“Great national blues acts, cold beer from Miller Lite and LAV fun, what could be better on a summer night in downtown Grand Rapids?” said Lori Bennett, operations manager for the Cumulus West Michigan group.
