The Michigan premiere of the award-winning play “Mary Jane” is opening soon downtown.
Actors’ Theatre is presenting the 2017 play, which won a Drama Critics’ Circle Award and was called the “most profound and harrowing” of playwright Amy Herzog’s plays by The New York Times.
“Armed with medicines, feeding tubes and various medical equipment, Mary Jane is a single mother and relentless force when it comes to caring for her young, sick child,” Actors’ Theatre said. “Mary Jane is a moving and compassionate portrait of a woman striving for grace and the prevailing strength of human will when fueled by unconditional love.”
The show will play at 8 p.m. Jan. 30-Feb. 1 and Feb. 6-8, and at 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at the GRCC Spectrum Theater downtown.
Tickets are $28 for adults and $24 for students and seniors.
