Mozart’s Requiem, led by guest conductor Robert Spano, will be performed this weekend on the DeVos Performance Hall stage. Guest pianist Joyce Yang and four soloists – Georgia Jarman, Kelley O’Connor, Taylor Stayton and Soloman Howard – will join the Grand Rapids Symphony, and Chorus for the beloved composer’s epic funeral mass Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25. Performances start at 8 p.m.
This musical piece by Mozart was left unfinished after his untimely death at age 35 and remains one of his most personal and stirring works. Featured in the multi-Academy Award winning film “Amadeus,” Mozart’s Requiem is replete with infectious melodies.
