In addition to Irish on Ionia (which hails the return of the popular outdoor street party, back after a three year hiatus), there’s a diverse range of activities taking place throughout the city this weekend, starting tonight with some ‘Pop’ stars from Muskegon:

Pop Evil’s “Skeletons” album release show at The Stache March 16
Pop Evil is an American rock band that was formed in North Muskegon, Michigan, in 2001 by Leigh Kakaty. The band’s roots reside in TenFive, a group formed in the 1990s by Kakaty and guitarist Jason Reed. Pop Evil won “Song of the Year” for “Trenches” in 2013. There will be no opening band for this all ages event. The Stache is located at The Intersection, 133 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW, in downtown Grand Rapids. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here

Comedian Katt Williams at Van Andel Saturday, March 18, 8 p.m.
Comedy legend Katt Williams has a career spanning over 20 years. Williams has earned a worldwide reputation as one of today’s top entertainers, having developed a career seeded with thousands of sold-out arenas, an expansive list of starring roles on the small screen, and memorable performances in major box office hits. His latest stand-up special, “Katt Williams: World War III,” on Netflix tackles the subject of conspiracy theories, delivering a realistic but humorous critique of some prevalent theories.
