Bring your clubs and tee up at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club this winter. Watermark Properties, which owns Thornapple Pointe, is bringing golf indoors this month thanks to its new Live Golf Studios.
Thornapple Pointe, located at 7211 48th St. SE, is the first of the Watermark Properties clubs to offer Live Golf Studios for golfers who want to maintain their game throughout the winter and shoulder seasons in Michigan.
There are six simulators available for use at Thornapple Pointe–four PGA Tour Widescreen and two PGA Tour Curve simulators. Each of the simulators allows golfers the ability to play over 50 golf courses with various challenge options. Live Golf Studio course selections include highly prestigious locations such as the Pebble Beach Golf Resorts, the Kohler Courses, St. Andrews Links, and the Players Championship Courses – TPC Louisiana, TPC Sawgrass, and TPC Scottsdale, as well as many other great golf courses in North America and the European continent.
The Live Golf Studios also allow golfers to hit at multiple practice ranges, as well as play various arcade and family games. A full teaching simulator with high-speed cameras, balance plates, club fitting technology and more is all part of the advanced programming.
In addition to the six PGA golf simulators at Thornapple Pointe, a new bar and seating area have also been added, so year-round golfers can enjoy food and full bar service while playing.
Chris Sobieck, general manager of Watermark Golf and Sports, said the golf simulator has already been a hit with guests. “During our soft opening period, where we had members trying out the Live Golf Studios, it was really encouraging to see so many different ages and levels of golfers. We had families playing as well as our most competitive golfers and others, all out having a great time. These simulators offer something for everyone and are really fun to use.”
A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony launching the new Live Golf Studios at Thornapple Pointe will take place this month (date TBD); however, the service is now open to the public.

The Live Golf Studios are available to rent during any timeframe that Thornapple Pointe is open, from 30 minutes to multiple hours of play. Prices for renting the Live Golf Studios range from $35 to $55 per hour (depending on the time of play). Golf Leagues
Thornapple Pointe is also offering Live Golf Leagues, which will begin on Monday, Jan. 14 and Tuesday, Jan. 15. Each of the leagues will run for nine weeks over the winter. Starting times will be 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. both days. Interested parties are encouraged to join as a two-person team or you can sign up as a single to be paired with another person.
