Georgina’s restaurant opened in January 2018 to much excitement from those familiar with the restaurant’s original Traverse City location. But today, owner Tony Craig announced that the Grand Rapids location has closed.

Craig announced the news on Facebook. The post reads:

“First off I’d to thank everyone who has supported my dreams in the last year of Georgina’s Grand Rapids. However, with sincere thought and consideration, the Grand Rapids location is officially closed due to my well-being and current business ventures in Traverse City. All gift certificates will be redeemable at the Traverse City location.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” Chef/Owner Tony.

The restaurant, located at 724 Wealthy St. SE, offered Nicaraguan “comfort food.”

The Grand Rapids Business Journal reported in June that Craig is the subject of a sexual harassment lawsuit.
