MVP Sports Clubs hosts fundraiser for Children's Healing Center

You don’t need a little black dress or a tie for the second annual Movers & Shakers fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Healing Center. Instead, you need a pair of tennis shoes and your favorite workout gear.

MVP Sports Clubs is hosting its annual event on Thursday, Aug. 24 at its downtown Grand Rapids location, 33 Fountain St. The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Group fitness classes will be followed by a social hour including drinks and appetizers.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., classes start at 7 p.m. and cocktails and appetizers will be available beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at MVP Sports Clubs. Participation in a group fitness class, appetizers and two drink tickets are included in the ticket price.

Attendees choose from yoga, zumba, group ride (indoor cycling), group fight (kickboxing) or a training for warrior’s class (boot camp).

Afterwards, they will be treated to appetizers provided by Slow’s BBQ and sip and socialize on cocktails provided by Coppercraft Distillery and The Mitten Brewing Company while browsing silent action items.

“We will have a DJ, food and fun for everyone, all in an effort to raise funds for Children’s Healing Center,” said Autumn Haan, regional marketing manager for MVP Sports Clubs.

The mission of the Children’s Healing Center is to provide a safe, clean and engaging environment for kids with weak immune systems to interact with others. Its vision is to promote social, emotional and physical healing for kids and their families.

MVP Sports Clubs has a history of partnering with the Children’s Healing Center in Grand Rapids, selecting the organization as the beneficiary of last year’s Movers and Shakers event as well. To date, the sports and health facility has raised $20,000 for the charity.
