It’s time for the weekend! From mini golf to hot rods to the “world’s largest food truck rally,” there’s plenty to do this weekend in and around Grand Rapids. Oh, and you can soar through the trees if you so desire, thanks to an area camp opening its zip line to the public for an afternoon.

Food Truck Rally at Berlin Raceway
(Sunday, Aug. 13)

Promising “The most food trucks you have ever seen in one place, at one time, from all over the United States,” Generation Entertainment (Guinness World Records holder of Largest Parade of Food Trucks) and Berlin Raceway are hosting nearly 100 food trucks from around the country.

Admission is free. Food trucks will be operating from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Berlin Raceway, 2060 Berlin Fair Dr., in Marne.

Soar through the trees
(Saturday, Aug. 12)

Camp Newaygo is opening its 1,000-foot zip line, which loops through the camp’s tree canopy, to the public on Saturday. The zip line will be available from 1-3 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost ranges from $12 to $22. Learn more at Camp Newaygo.

Cars & Coffee Drive-In & Dine
(Friday, Aug. 11)

Cars and Coffee Grand Rapids returns to the Downtown Market Friday from 7-10 p.m. The Friday night event will be similar to the Cars and Coffee events usually held on Saturday mornings.

Cars & Coffee Grand Rapids is a unique registration style event modeled after similar weekend events that take place throughout the country from Irvine, California to Palm Beach, Florida.

Downtown Market vendors are staying open late for this event.

Play a round of (mini) golf
(Thursday, Aug. 10)

A nine-hole mini golf course is coming to the Midtown Green in the Midtown neighborhood. Bring a picnic, play some yard games, and putt the night away.

The Midtown Green is located at 753 Fountain St. NE. Mini golf takes place from 6-8 p.m. Every Thursday night this summer, family-friendly events are being held at the Midtown Green courtesy of the Midtown Neighborhood Association.

Head to the ballpark
(Sunday, Aug. 13)

The West Michigan Whitecaps take on the Great Lakes Loons on Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Ballpark. The game starts at 1 p.m.
