Get Your Geek On
Test your trivia savvy with Geeks Who Drink Grand Rapids at Atwater GR. Unlike school (where you’re rewarded solely by your personal sense of fulfillment and a letter grade), your knowledge is rewarded with brewery gift cards, mystery prizes and recognition/fear by your trivia competitors.
Gather a team of up to six players and join us for eight rounds with eight questions each varying in themes, presented by Quizmaster Avi M Forstein. Can’t find teammates? You’re welcome to take on the trivia solo and reap the benefits of going it alone. You can also visit us this week, sit at the bar, and make friends here. (Trust us, we’ve seen it happen!)
Geeks Who Drink at Atwater GR occurs every Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Take a Hops tour
The end of August and early September marks the peak of hop season. Farms across the state are harvesting their hop crops for breweries all over Michigan and the other parts of the world.
The tour, which originates at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, will visit with Pam Miller at Hopyards of Kent County for a farm tour and samples, as well as two of the farm’s closest brewery partners — Rockford Brewing Co. and Gravel Bottom Craft Brewery & Supply. A pint or samples at the two brewery stop are also part of the tour.
