The Grand Rapids Griffins released their 2017-18 schedule last week. The Griffins, who won the Calder Cup last season, open the 2017-18 campaign Oct. 6 at home against the Manitoba Moose. A banner raising ceremony will take place before the game to honor the 2017 championship team.
Highlights for the 2017-18 campaign include the 17th annual matinee game, which is 11 a.m. Nov. 8 against the San Antonio Rampage at Van Andel Arena.
The annual New Year’s Eve game returns for the 21st season, as the Griffins host the Milwuakee Admirals at 6 p.m.
The Griffins also host holiday games on the Friday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 24) and St. Patrick’s Day (March 17).
The final game of the regular season is April 14 against the Cleveland Monsters.
In all, there are 38 home games, 25 of which are on Friday or Saturday.
