Hello, and welcome to grmag.com, a new daily online publication celebrating Grand Rapids.

The website is a spinoff of Grand Rapids Magazine, which I’m sure you’ve glanced on newsstands across the city — or maybe you have the latest issue sitting on your coffee table right now.

Like our sister publication, grmag.com is a celebration of city life. You will find new and unique stories highlighting the arts, entertainment, dining, recreation and people who make Grand Rapids a great city to live, work and play.

We plan to share a variety of stories centered on downtown Grand Rapids and its surrounding communities every day. We will also share videos and photo galleries from some of the fun events taking place around the city.

Already you can learn about a new addition to the John Ball Zoo, read about a group of superheroes making a difference in the community, find out about great summer reads available at the Grand Rapids Public Library, meet two players from the West Michigan Whitecaps, and find out more about the Italian cuisine available at new restaurant Mazzo as well as watch a video of Chef Clark preparing one of his favorite dishes.

We hope grmag.com becomes your go-to place to find out about cool things happening in Grand Rapids. Whether it’s the latest fashions available from downtown retailers, bands playing at your favorite venues, outdoor activities to try, festivals to attend, new restaurants to enjoy or other city activities to partake in — there’s seriously a lot of stuff going on in this city every single day — you can find it all here.

So I invite you to peruse the site and stop back often for the latest news. Also, to ensure you don’t miss a thing, sign up for our e-newsletter, which will be delivered to your inbox every Thursday (beginning later this month) and will include the week’s top stories as well as a list of the weekend’s top things to do.

We are so excited to launch this great new publication and can’t wait to hear from you. Please leave us a comment on Facebook or Twitter and let us know what you think of the site.

Sincerely,

Charlsie Dewey
